Trip Outline

Day 1 – Welcome to Wadi Rum

You will arrive in Wadi Rum Village around midday, where I will welcome you to my home with traditional Bedouin tea, coffee and a homemade lunch. This is a chance to relax, meet your hosts and experience Bedouin hospitality before beginning your journey into the desert.

In the afternoon, we head out on a half-day jeep tour through the red desert, visiting some of Wadi Rum's most famous landscapes including natural springs, ancient inscriptions, canyons, sand dunes and rock bridges. Along the way there will be opportunities for short walks, photography and optional sandboarding.

Before sunset, we arrive at the cave area where you will be shown your sleeping cave and the different sunset viewpoints nearby. After sunset, you are welcome to relax, enjoy a shower, or join us around the fire for a homemade Bedouin dinner, tea and coffee prepared on the fire, stories, games and traditional Bedouin music.

Tonight you will sleep in a cave beneath one of the clearest night skies in Jordan.

Day 2 – Bedouin Women Workshop & Red Desert Exploration

After a traditional Bedouin breakfast prepared on the fire, we begin the day with a visit to a local women's cooperative in the village. Here you will learn about traditional Bedouin crafts and choose an activity to create yourself. You may weave a keychain from camel or goat hair, paint a ceramic coffee mug or toothbrush holder, or enjoy traditional henna decoration.

For those who wish, there is also an optional opportunity to support a local desert reforestation project by planting a native desert tree and leaving your name and date beside it as a lasting memory of your visit.

Your handmade items will be completed by the women and prepared for you to take home at the end of your journey.

At lunchtime, you will choose a meal from a local restaurant before heading into the desert to enjoy lunch surrounded by spectacular scenery.

In the afternoon, we continue exploring the red desert with a combination of jeep touring and canyon walks through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Wadi Rum. We return to the cave before sunset, allowing time to relax and enjoy the evening.

As darkness falls, we gather around the fire once again for dinner, tea, stories and a peaceful night beneath the stars.

Day 3 – Bedouin Cooking Experience & Wild Camping

After breakfast, we journey deep into the white desert where the day begins with a hands-on Bedouin cooking experience.

Together with your guide, you will collect desert herbs and firewood, learn about traditional plants used by Bedouins, choose a beautiful location in the desert and prepare lunch on an open fire. This is much more than a meal; it is a cooking class and cultural experience where you become part of the process.

After lunch and some time to relax, we continue exploring the white desert by jeep and on foot. This region contains some of the most spectacular and remote desert scenery in Jordan, with endless white sand, dramatic rock formations and hidden canyons rarely visited by tourists.

Before sunset we return to the cave area where you can relax, shower and enjoy another homemade Bedouin dinner.

Later in the evening, we continue deeper into the desert for a true wild camping experience. Together with your guide, you will choose a remote camping location far from roads and lights. Surrounded only by silence, stars and desert landscapes, you will spend the night around a small fire sharing tea, stories and one of the most authentic experiences Wadi Rum has to offer.

Day 4 – Mountain Hike & Farewell

Early in the morning, we return from the wild camping site to the cave for breakfast.

After breakfast, we begin a guided hike on Jabal Al Hash, one of the most beautiful mountain routes in Wadi Rum. Along the way, your guide will introduce you to local plants and desert herbs that have been used by Bedouins for generations.

At the summit, we prepare fresh herbal tea from the plants collected during the hike and enjoy panoramic views stretching across the desert.

After descending the mountain, we return to Wadi Rum Village where I will welcome you once more to my home for a final lunch and tea before saying goodbye and taking you back to your car or driver.

This marks the end of four unforgettable days exploring Wadi Rum through the landscapes, traditions and hospitality of the Bedouin people.
